Scandinavian school of Brussels - blog

Today was a very exciting day here at SSB. We had the privilege to get a visit from the belgian princess Astrid. She came this morning and was met by loads of children from the school waving the scandinavian flags outside the castle. The students from the studentcounsil, lunchcomittee and friendship supporters together with teachers were allowed to participate during the ceremony that the school. Since I am a member of the friendship supporters I am very happy to be able to participate in this honorable assembly. The ceremony started of with a short presentation of the schools background and welcoming the princess. This year the school is celebrating it's 40th year anniversary and have therefore done a photography display of Queen Astrid of Belgium. SSB was founded in 1973 and was then called Reine Astrid, after Queen Astrid. Therefore, it was fitting to invite Queen Astrids granddaughter princess Astrid to the school to open up the display in honor of her grandmother. 

I had a lovely day which I will never forget. After all, it isn't every day you get to see a princess!
